Collecting Data through Drones

GrandView Services, LLC, in conjunction with Cal Engineering & Geology has been using drones for the past few years to develop data collection through photogrammetery software.  Heller Gregory is a licensed pilot with a Part 333 exemption through the FAA.  The FAA currently requires a Part 107, a simple test through the FAA.

After the first year of research & develpment, GrandView Services, LLC is putting the data to good use.  We've had several large projects with the City of San Ramon and the City of Lafayette.  Our latest client has been Trail People.

Heller Gregory will discuss the workflow from launching the drones to the software (we use Pix4D) used to process a 2D and 3D mesh that can be used in AutoCAD and ArcGIS.

Kasia Drozynska will then continue the speech by describing her workflow once the files are formatted to GIS and CAD files.
